Iceland is one of Britains biggest and fastest growing retailers also recognised as one of the best companies to work for in the country. Initially started in the 1970s as a sideline business to sell loose frozen food it went on to produce and sell branded products in its own right before expanding to become the chain we know today. Although it is best-known for its ready-meals many people are unaware how dedicated Iceland has been to improving the food sold in Britains supermarkets it was one of the first to ban MSG (Monosodium Glutamate) and remove artificial colourings flavourings and non-essential preservatives from its own brand products and continues to work hard in creating healthy and nutritious meals in all food groups.
